12 out of 13 dead in shell.fully grown?? geesh

Okie,

Could you double check/test your thermometer just to be safe?

If they were fully formed and it was a high temp problem then it seems it had to occur late.... unless temp was actually too high the whole time, developed too fast and they couldn't hatch early.

Hope all goes well with the Turkeys....

The highest temp during the whole time was just before moving to hatcher.and it was only 101. I have had that happen before with no bad results........I am beginning to think it must have been high humidity......am keeping it lower next time, I thought 60 or so was okay? thanks all for your advice, I am buying a new thermometer and humidity gauge for this hatch......

A short period at 101 should not cause this.

For chickens 60% is a bit high for incubation. About 45% is better.

Turkeys do need higher for incubation, say 55% to 60%

Whatever themometer you do get... I would check it. A lot of them are just off.... some are off A LOT!

Don't give up. I hope you can resolve what the issue is.

I had some rotton luck. My first hatch attemp in the old galvanized brower (Scary Bator) of banty Ameracanas was 100% failure w/ no development. They were all yolkers and mutilated internally by the P.O.

Then I had 100% hatch in the same bator w/ 2 local BO's, but one was hatches w/ unabsorbed yolk sac.

Then I tried the bantys again. I had 4 viable at day 6, but they all died at diff phases and didn't make it to day 21.

It's hard & sad....but don't give up.
