12-week Light Brahmas, Pullets?

That's an awfully straight tail for a cockeral of that age. In my Brahma boys the obvious rooster feathering has always started by 8 weeks. And sometimes the girls have that look too, it's not unique to roosters. Anything's possible, but I'd be surprised if that was a roo. Sometimes brahma girls can have a real "cocky" attitude, too :)

Right now they both look like pullets. The one in question doesn't have that much redder or larger of a comb than the other -- just ever so slightly, which is normal for a 12 week old.

As far as saddle feathers, I believe at 12 weeks cockerels already have them. They are found on the bird's back, at the base of the tail. They will be thin and pointed and shiny, and will curve downward.

Okay, that relieves my stress a little. Thank you!! I don't see anything on her that looks like saddle feathers.

Is size usually an indication or not with Brahmas pullets and cockerels? We have two 12-week-old Brahmas and they are quite different in size.

Thanks again!

Okay, that is a relief. :) That is funny, she seems to have a bit of a chicken attitude. She is sweet, though.

Thank you so much!

Hi did your chicks turn out to be pullets, I have 2 that are 14 weeks old and look like yours. Both in the last week have really red faces and I am worried they are Roos :( .
