Well I guess we’ll find out then! I also have a leghorn Bantam rooster, a Cubalaya cockerel, and a little mixed chick that I’m positive is a cockerel as well.I hate to worry you about your chicken... just remember that lots of Roos are different. But we ended up having to re-home Slick when he started trying to attack us with his literally 3 and 1/2 inch spurs. We didnt know about trimming at the time, but I guess it was for the best. That wasn’t until he was 2 years old, though.
His son Barney (the roo we ended up keeping after Slick left) is sweeter than most of my hens, he’s 1 year old. I try not to handle him too much so he won’t turn on me, but he comes right into my lap and takes grass from me to give to the hens. So you never know, really. They’re all different.
