Went out to the coop this morning to let the ladies and girls out to free range like they do every day from sun up to sun down. One of my 12 week old EE pullets didnt fly or run out like the rest of them. She just stood there with her eyes closed. I picked her up which made her squawk and squirm but she still didn't open her eyes. I seen no signs of injury or eye infection. I dipped her beak in water but she just squirmed to get away from me. She is now in a kitty crate inside. She is just lying there with her beak slightly open. She was fine running around last night when I put all the girls to bed and did the nightly head count. All of them fight for a good position on the roosts at night. Maybe a closed head injury? I have no idea all the others seem perfectly fine.

Have you considered it could possibly be coccidosis? Cocci CAN occur WITHOUT having bloody poo. Symptoms are lethergie eyes closed feathers ruffled and depending on the strain of cocci bloody poo. Loose bowels are also a sign
Take a look at coccidosis online and look at the symptoms. It can occur in older chickens too if you agree it could be cocci you can treat with corid. Corid kills all strains of cocci. Its a possibility that this is what is happening with her
Because she's not drinking you would have to give her her medicine water with a syringe. Carefully as they can easily aspirate on the water. I hope this helps and wish you the best. Do some searching on cocci and if you agree I'd start treating her soon. I haven't seen her but it sounds like this could possibly be her issue. Best wishes

I looked that up. I did give them medicated chick food for their first 8 weeks then switched to regular starter grower. I know at 8 weeks you aren't out of the woods for coccidosis, but that the chances reduce. At 9 weeks they went out side with the big girls. There are 13 pullets at 12 weeks she seems to be the only sick one. She doesn't have her feathers all ruffled and seems to have control of her body. Still can't get her to drink. I tried watered down yogurt (usually a favorite) and she won't eat it. She just flapped her wings and squawked like u was trying to kill her. She has been in the crate since about 8am and no poo yet. Should I feed the rest of the flock medicated food for awhile? Any other suggestions beside just trying to offer water?

Upon further inspection. I notices a bit of dried blood around her left nostril. I did get her to take 10 cc of watered down kefir from a syringe. She still seems strong. There was also fox last night trying to get into the coop. The chickens were going crazy. I really wonder if she fell or something. Who knows?!? The rest of the chicks seem totally normal. I have had bad luck with my EE's.
