I need to enter these chickens in our county fair by next week. I have to enter them by sex. I know for sure that one is a hen and the black one is a roo. I am confused about some of the others because they have combs but no wattle. Thank you in advance.

#1 Roo

#2 ?

#3 ?

#4 hen

#5 roo?

#6 hen?

D'Uccles can be difficult to tell from my experience. I can't make any guesses that I would bet money on.

I had a darling little hen that I thought was a rooster and so I didn't cuddle her or hold her at all, even though I loved her so much, since I thought she was a rooster. Then one day I found out she was a hen and I was shocked. Her comb was so large, even from the beginning. This is one example - there were others who surprised me too.

But then I also used to have some cockerels were so obviously cockerels from early on! So now I really am careful about guessing on d'Uccles!

But here goes:
#5 does have a cockerel-like expression in the eyes.
#2 has a pullet-like expression.
#3 I guess pullet.
#6 I am going to guess cockerel

These are total guesses!!! Please don't go by my guesses LOL but it was fun to guess and they are sure cuties!!!

How old are all these birds?

Without knowing age, my guesses are:

#1: Pullet
#2: Cockerel
#3: Cockerel
#4: Definitely pullet
#5: Cockerel
#6: Cockerel
