Where did you get him?I have no idea! He was just sold as an "Olive Egger Hen" and turned out to be a Roo!
The pea comb and beard says he is either from an Am or an EE...
.....so 50% to 25% chance of him passing on blue egg gene.

I got him from one of our local feed stores. You’re spot on with the beard and the pea comb though. Pretty neat! If I bred him with a Maran, and he happened to pass on the blue egg gene, would that baby be an olive egger?Where did you get him?

Such a pretty girl! She’s a dark Brahma chicken. What kind of hen is he standing over in the second pic?
Without pure bred parentage, you'd have to wait until the female offspring laid to claim Olive Eggers.I got him from one of our local feed stores. She is pretty...I have a Silver Penciled Rock and she looks very similar. She is also an attention hog, she pecks at my pant legs till I pick her up and pay her attention, then she is content when I put her back on the ground to go on with her dayView attachment 1625033 View attachment 1625034 View attachment 1625035 View attachment 1625036
