Nellie and Leo, those cute babies pictured as my profile photo, are today 12 weeks old! And, to celebrate their birthday, they've decided to get frisky in the pool. Here is what happened:
So, Nellie jumped in the pool and lay down flat, arched her back, and stuck her bum up. Leo started bobbing his head like crazy and jumped in with her, gently nibbling on her neck and trying to climb on top of her. My 9 week old Campbell, Olive, thought it looked like fun and jumped in too. The lovers didn't seem to care, they didn't really seem to know what they were doing anyway. My only other drake, a 9 week old runner named Lucky started running around frantically. The third hen, 9 week old runner Lucy was also a bit confused as to whether or not she should be doing something, too.
It was all very entertaining.
