I'm pretty sure of genders but thought I'd ask others for their opinions. They are all about 12 weeks old (bought them as day olds 12 weeks ago)

1. Rhode Island Red 2.Isa Brown 3. Barneveldor 4. Speckled Sussex 5. Australorp

The Australorp and speckled Sussex are the ones I'm not 100% certain of... only 70/30 that they're roos. Speckles has rounded saddle feathers, feathered quickly, but has they bright red comb and big tail feathers. Aussie has no tail to speak of, early red comb the sheen on the feathers are pointed, but the shape is more rounded. Being very new to 'chickening' ( my new word for the day) I'm very confused lol

At 12 weeks of age gender differentiated feathering in the saddle and hackflle areas are not always present... generally it can be up to 14 to 16 weeks for those to fully emerge. Prior to that pullets and cockerels have the same feathering in the saddle and hackle area. In this case this bird at 12 weeks has prominent growth and significant reddening of comb and wattle, indicating male gender. See how it differs from those of birds the same age in photos 1-3
