almost reminds me of a Barnevelder (maybe a mix with it) with all that black and little bit of gold. but not sure with the one leg starting to feather

hope someone else can help ya

thanks for your input,. does Barnevelder have feathered legs? I don't know to much about them, actually i don't know anything about them. I'll go look it up. thanks
Melinda

no they don't have feathered legs that I know of. I have 3 8 week old chicks and not feathers on their legs. but i don't think they have slate legs either (maybe I should go look at them lol) there are single laced barnies and double laced, I think yours resembles a single laced with some other breed.

good luck!!

I have not looked under wing yet, but got a hold the person i got it from. They're saying it could be a dark braham(sp?).
Could this be right?
I tried to search for info on them but can't find anything on BYC. so, i'm heading to google to check.

well, that was fun, nothing looked like her even the golden brahma.

It's not a pure Dark Brahma, if it has Brahma at all in it. Looks like a gold laced something mix or a Gold Laced Wyandotte that has some feather stubs showing up. That can happen with Wyandottes due to their Cochin ancestry. What does NOT fit with Wyandotte are the dark legs-they should be yellow. Seems to be a rose comb, not the pea comb of a Brahma.
