Please help am on day 17 and today is rainy day and humidity is high i dont put any water In incubator beacuse you see there is already condesation so do you think i must put Water or is better to not beacause today is high humidity in the air

you could put a sock of rice in the incubator to bring down the humidity a bit.

At last! One hatched, 3 solid pips, still 5 lazy eggs.

The vent of vents are open all the way?

If the rice does not work, and if you have a de humidifier, you can put the incubator into a closet.

Make sure to open the door to the closet every couple of hours to re fresh the air, especially close to hatch

At day 17, it is not likely an issue to have humidity high though. What is it at?

Can you wipe out the water with a paper towel? What is the humidity at right now?

sad update from my batch of 5 under Broody-silkie momma... only one was a success and its doing just fine... #2 was a cracked shell that leaked last weekend and stopped growing then. #1,3 & 4 all failed to develop after they went very dark. it appears they only reached about 1.5 weeks along before stopping development.

oddly enough, 2 other Silkie-Mommas returned to broodiness. The white one has 5 EE/OE from the main flock she is dilligently sitting on all week so far. I candled them on Sunday IIRC and made notes. Then on wednesday evening i discovered the other Silkie Momma had 5 of her own now. They will get pencil marked and candled this weekend. HOWEVER, I know they won't count for this fun run....

I hope to give a picture soon of the little one so far with "Flappy" the Silkie Momma.

What are these? Because I have Ayam Cemani x Easter eggers plus maybe some other breeds in there, and I’m getting this look too. The skin is actually mottled gray and pink.
