@BullChick I don't think I've seen that in there, no. There have also been a few blood spots in her eggs, and the egg is sometimes a little watery. The shell is kind of porus and thinner compared to the other eggs from other hens. I thought this was because I took those last six eggs I tried last year right before she stoped laying for a molt, but her eggs are still a bit off now that she's laying again. I hoped this year might be different.

I don't know why her eggs wouldn't be fertile because she lives with a RIR rooster... the SLW lives with the same roo (my chicks from her will be a RIR + SLW cross, same as I hatched out last year).
While it is true that it takes time to get back in the groove, it does sound like her eggs are not suitable. Roosters have their favorites, and sometimes do leave one hen alone. Especially if she won’t submit.

@BullChick I have seen the rooster mate with Aurora before, but I don't know about recently.

I've also seen him mate with Tiny, the SLW, and she tried to kill him afterward. Grabbed his comb and wouldn't let go until he was squealing like a pig. 🤪 I'm surprised her eggs were fertile at all. 🤣 (I think she may actually be above him in the pecking order. No one messes with Tiny. 😂)

I have set my eggs, right at noon MST. I set 26 White Leghorn eggs from the University of Connecticut, 12 Hedemora eggs from a local keeper, and 15 eggs from my flocks, for a total of 53 eggs in 3 incubators. In the one RCom I didn't use the dividers and in the other I did. Leaving them out gives me more room for eggs, but it may also not allow for proper turning, so I'll be keeping a close eye on the ones without the dividers, and once I remove eggs that are not developing I will probably have room for dividers in the other one if it looks like I need them. Each incubator has a Govee temperature and humidity sensor, which I started using last year thanks to the tip from @ChickenCanoe, they are awesome tools that let me check temperatures and humidity using an app on my phone.

:clap That is exactly what to do! Hot Hands, heat sinks, wrapping the incubator in a towel...
The toe thing is from fluctuations.
Thanks for the tips. I use an old computer UPS - has a battery with alarm when power goes out. At least enough time to wrap incubator in a towel.

I never knew temp fluctuations could cause crooked toes. Learned something new today.
I've never heard of Silver Pencil Rocks! What kind of comb do they have?
Single comb.
My PR hen went broody a few times per year. Good mama. Beautiful feathers.
