Quick candling going into DAY 5 and only one is developing. All the others appear to be clears. I will wait until DAY 7 before I toss any. Very disappointing.
This is the second set of paint eggs I am trying to hatch. Incubator is correct temperature and humidity, not sure why this keeps happening but they are shipped eggs so I know it’s a crapshoot every time.

3 days in, our broody buff orpington has finally figured out its best to sit ON the eggs.

My second broody went to roost last night instead of sitting on the eggs. So the first broody took the eggs back! Oh the drama

I candled the eggs yesterday...so far we have growth!! In some quail eggs. Will be taking pictures 2 days from now on day 7! Excited!

Just finished candling mine on Days 7-8. So far 1 LO egg #8 (last one added to incubator) has a saddle/displaced air cell:

You have my sincerest apologies. I was attempting to be humorous.
What exactly were you asking for an opinion about? I wasn’t clear on your question.

I had 32 marans eggs incubating in February. Then the freak snow storm hit Texas. Around day 14. We were out of power for 36 hours, the temps in the house were in the 30s, I just threw a blanket over them in hopes it would come back on sooner than it did. From time to time my fat dog would lay on top of the blanket but other than that i didn't know what else to do, we lost water at the same time too so no hot water bottles :/. I had 14 eggs that still had life in them & made it to lock down. Of those 14, 11 hatched. The incubator showed 2 days behind on its count down when the power actually came back on, sure enough hatch day was right on time with the incubator, 2 days behind. I think if we were to have another power outage while incubating I'd just add the same amount of hours (maybe 1 or to more) to the hatch time.

Wow, hoping all of the slack from that storm is over for you all!

My other buff orp stole half the eggs and is now sitting too. Hopefully they will get along and hatch me some chicks.

Here is a photo of an egg that you can't be happy about.. saddle air cell. Then one you're really not happy about, a baby quit. . Then, there's the questionable, no movement, but check out those nice thick veins. I will candle again tonight to see if lazy bones will move. .
