It says on the warranty that if you try to hatch in that incubator then your warranty is void.
I thought that if I put a towel down and cleaned it really well then it would be fine. It wasn't. I had to buy a new hygrometer, (it was easy to install) but it's not supposed to be up as high as you should have it for hatching. Nothing higher than 50% really.
I hatch in my RCom Suro Eco or my Little Giant or my Genesis.
I'm so confused... if you can't hatch things in an incubator, then what is it for? I thought all incubators were for hatching things. 😅 Did I miss something? I couldn't find your original message.

The RCom 20 is for incubating eggs only. You have to lockdown or hatch in a separate one. Sorry if that was confusing...🥴 Even cabinet incubators have some for incubating, some for hatching and some that do both.
I think it's to make the unit last longer. Incubators get so much dander in the fan motors.
Ooohhh just saw this. That's crazy, I'd want one that does both. However, with my current predicament, the idea of having one for hatching and one for incubating doesn't sound quite as bad... 🤪

:hugs I hope it was just a coincidence. Let us know if any more are acting odd.
If this was directed toward me... I will. Ellie had acted this way before. One of the boards on the ramp going up to the nest box fell about three months ago, and I noticed her acting odd around that time. I figured she must have been on the ramp or under it when it fell. But that was three months ago. She acted like something in her hip / breast area hurt (she was limping a bit) but got better, started laying again, and became best friends with my blind hen, Amber. She hasn't limed n months. Now I wonder if there was something wrong since then that was unrelated but it wasn't showing up. Maybe nothing to do with the board that came down...? I'm just glad it wasn't a long drawn-out thing and it was fast. Still miss her like crazy though.

...also I know chickens aren't people, but I saved her last egg. She laid the day she died. The father of her egg is her brother. Do you think I should I risk incubating it after the other eggs hatch? Ellie was the sweetest of them all and I hoped to hatch chicks from her someday with an unrelated rooster, but those dreams are now gone.

I would try to hatch it! I did that with one of my chickens that I sold, granted she is still alive, but I was sorry that I sold her. I now have her pullet chick from the egg she laid the day I sold her. Sweetest little thing!🥰

Finally, 9/9 eggs externally pipped! Does this mean all will hatch? Or they can still die?
I certainly hope they all make it! I had one that chirped for 2 days before externally pipping. He was too weak to break the membrane, so I finally intervened so he wouldn't suffocate by tearing a hole where I saw him trying to break through. After breathing for a bit, he gained strength and got out by himself. So if the membrane shrinks or the chick can't break it, I guess they can. 😬
