13 hens... yet 29 eggs a day. Suspicious?

How many roosters do you have? Watch those a little closer and you may find you have a couple of manly girls.

I have only had one pullet lay 2 eggs in a day and that only happened once.

Hey everyone! I have some more interesting clues for everyone this afternoon.
Ok, I have marked all of our current eggs in the fridge so I can tell if they are placed back in the nests. If I find an egg with a black line on it in the coop then I guess we will have to figure out who the prankster is. If not... then the mystery continues.
Today we got 17 brown eggs.
Also... a breakthrough! This morning we found a sparrow in our coop! We believed the coop was animal safe, but apparently we thought wrong. It is always locked so there must be a hole that we can't see! Could a snake perhaps be hiding and "stashing" other chickens eggs in my coop on a daily basis? We have seen multiple bull snakes out by the coop before but I doubt that a big fat snake could sneak through a hole the size of a sparrow.
Wish me luck in solving this mystery! Any new theories or advice would be much appreciated!

I have an OEGB that lays 2 eggs a day but only after she molts or goes broody or whatever reason she stops laying for a while she'll lay 2 a day for about a week but she's the only one I have that does it I would love mine to lay that often !

That's because chicks don't count! Matter o' fact, anything under a year old counts as a chick.....right? This will mean I have no chickens, and therefore must immediately go out and buy some! This is chicken logic.

Wow! I'm now following this message to see what's up! When I had 24 hens I was regularly getting 26-27 a day. Now that I'm down to 7, I get 7. Of course, it has turned much colder tonight, so egg production may go down...maybe not.

Can't wait to see how you're getting so many eggs!
