We susspect 1 roo and one pullet. They are 13 weeks old exactually, no crowing so far. The suspected roo has taking a liking to our black bantam and she is in love with him, he protects her. the two barred rocks have grown up together with the white cockerel and black girl. any suggestions on the sex of the two barred rocks?

One appears lighter in color than the other, the one with that is lighter is a Roo.. At least that is how mine are. The other is a pullet.

Uh oh...you're not going to like my sexing, because they both look male to me. They both look just too white/light to be female... I hope I'm wrong though...

Here's my BR pullet at 16 weeks or so. Her comb is still minimal in size, and she has more dark than white...

I was thinking they both look like roos too. I have a 19 week old BR pullet that is just now getting a red comb and wattles, also they have really light colored legs, the pullets usually have darker legs.

I think the second pic is a hen and the other is a rooster. We have a hen that is the same lighter color as the rooster but she doesn't have a comb. They are barred rocks too.

Both males. One's just a little slower than the other, but he'll catch up.
Exactly. They don't develop the comb at the same rate. Also, I actually see the iridescent saddle feathers on the slower developing one, I believe. Bright clear yellow legs as well indicate a cockerel, in addtion to the cockerel plumage color.
