13 year old daughter and Christmas

a sturdy desk that can stay with her through the years...

or

a comfy chair for her room

I have a friend her age. I would say a digital camera, clothes (Maybe a gift card to hollister, or ambercrombie?) or
just flat out money, and then she can decides what she really wants, and she'll have the cash to get it.

Does she have a hobby or collect anything? My 13 year old informed me she doesn't care about toys anymore but her model horses are not toys.

My little sister is in this age group, so I'm getting inspiration from what she likes.

Art supplies maybe? Paints, a sketchbook, drawing pencils.

Beads and beading supplies, this is something fun that she can make and wear, and even share with a friend. I'm 26 years old and I still enjoy sitting down with my mom and my sisters and making jewelry.

Perhaps a cheap digital camera? Funky socks (knee high, striped, sparkly) and fashion accessories are usually a winner and even result in squeals of happiness.

Personally I am not a fan of Seventeen or any fashion magazines as I think they are full of unrealistic beauty ideals and models that are so airbrushed that they are impossibly perfect and borderline inhuman, but that's me.

If she likes to read, books! Or a gift card to a bookstore.

Better than a store gift card....an American Express gift card...then she can use it how she wants and besides that...its cool

}........we choose one gift for the girls and one for the boys.........in that gift we put $50.00........that way they can choose what they want.

We do little cosmetic type stuff or silly toys for the stockings and in that also includes underware and socks

What the younger ones enjoy the most is the one on one time they get with they parent they choose to take them shopping

Stocks in her favorite thing so she can retire when she's 40. Stocks are really cheap right now.

Just kidding (well, only sort of). We always had to make a list of options when we got to that age. Maybe ask her again and remind her that it's YOU doing the buying and if she doesn't give you help there is no telling what she'll get.
