Most hens will begin to lay around 5 months old. Our EE girls are just under 5 months and just this week we've begun getting cute little pullet eggs.

I am so excited, my 2nd Australorp hen has just started laying and in the same "monkey grass" location as my other hens.......well........all except on of the Barred rock hens ,who decided to lay on TOP of some old carpet in my horse trailer ! good grief...........egg hunting is NOT what I want to spend my days doing........ have fun when your eggs do come..........

How old were your Austrolorps that just started laying? We had a pullet eggs a few weeks ago and nothing since then...
