Meyer hatchery has Leghorn eggs, about $3 each plus $10 shipping for 12. Pretty reasonable!

Incubation question. What causes "sticky chicks"? I have one hatching now that is covered with sticky liquid. it's so sticky that its bill was glued shut.

Oh no! I have no idea-maybe the humidity was too high?

If I get enough eggs laid by the 26 Im in then so far I only have 2 but also have 8 other eggs but im not waiting to hatch those as soon as I have 12 im setting those lol my laced and mottled hens hould be picking up laying so gonna hopefully have enough of those to set by the 26 I have 2 weeks of collecting

Lots of things cause this. Many will say humidity but it is anything that messes up with development.

What happens is that the chick does not develop enough to absorb the yolk and then the yolk remnants act like glue. Shipping, flock health, temps off in the incubator and etc.
