13th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

Sadly I am just starting my homemade incubator today.I plan to try to hatch only 4 at this time.I have 1 chocolate orp and 1 true whiting green if I said that breed right? bred with a barred rock roo and a silkie bantam and a pure satin silkie bred with a pure black silk roo
I can't wait for the outcome.

I won't be able to participate. There was a miscommunication with the seller I was going to purchase eggs from, and the eggs were eaten. She is collecting eggs again so I can try next week but they won't be in time for the Easter hatch.

I am waiting on a replacement part for our incubator that I broke after the hatch we just had, but happy hatching to everyone who gets to set!!

I have to practice self control and sit this one out. Just hatched 7, with 3 more going into lockdown tomorrow, plus my five 7 week olds who aren't outside 24/7 yet. Haha. Hubby might go nuts.

I ended up setting 38 (BC1, F2, Legbar). Since these are from my own birds, I expect a reasonably high hatch rate which means I better get more housing in place ASAP! There’s always something to build, it seems. I have 5 of my original birds (just now a year old), 6 from a September hatch, and 11 six-week olds of which 9(!) are female so I don’t have many going to freezer camp soon. I need boys out of that top set of BC1 eggs, and F2s being crazy diverse, I wanted to set as many of those as I could since I’ve only got one F1 girlie. My feed costs are gonna be Wish the soy-free options weren’t so expensive.
