I was so excited when I clicked the button on my NR360, and it displayed ‘5’. I started yelling ‘yes! Yes! Yessss!’ But then realized my family was still asleep.

My incubator is in my kids’ room, I sneak in to candle at night. Why is the beep so loud???? Luckily they sleep hard lol

(I’ve read about 70%, is that too high?)

I also do between 70-75% usually. I like to have higher humidity for shipped eggs.

Update on my Runner duck eggs.

THEY HATCHED!!!

I went down to the nursery where my one little Easter Egger hen has been dutifully sitting for the last 4 weeks on 2 Runner duck eggs. I went down about 2:30pm today to check on her and take care of the rest. They were set to hatch on today, April 11th and they did.

Note to self... Do not use wood shavings in broody nest again! They stick to the chickens and the eggs sink down in it so it's difficult for mother hen to move them and keep them warm. I added straw on top when I realized an egg had sunk down and she couldn't rescue it, it was cold then, but may still hatch.

Mine are just standard emu colors. Pyxis you have the perty blondes what I would give to have one of the remaining 11 eggs come out as a blonde lol

14 hatched so far! If I’m counting right… it looks like I have 6 fully feather chicks and 8 naked necks! Kinda hard to tell for certain with everyone running around. Lol I’m am pretty excited about 3 out of 5 marans came out as naked necks
