Hi, this is my first time hatching, and I am on day 14. I just candled and 10 out of my 12 eggs are still developing. These are shipped eggs. Can anyone give me their opinions on the following (see photos below)

1. Do the chicks look big enough for day 14? I feel like they look small compared to other candling pictures on day 14. (First 3 photos)
2. The 4th & 5th photos are of eggs I think are "quitters'. Do you agree? Should I get rid of them?
3. How do my air cells look? They didn't grow very much since day 7, but they did grow a little. (last photo)

Thanks!

The first three look like they have good blood supply going to them so I'd say you're in good shape with them. Agree on 4 & 5 being quitters. It is hard to assess air cell size from these photos.

I agree on most everything you think you are seeing. Usually at day 14 the chick is filling up a bit more of the egg. What have your temps been and are you using a still air or forced air bator?
The last two do appear to be quitters. It's up to you wether you pull them or not. Going by the picture with the marked air cells, I say they look decent for day 14. You generally see a bigger amount of growth between days 14-18 than you do between days 7-14.

Thank you for the replies. I thought mine was forced air, but I just looked at the description, and it doesn't actually say that! Ahhhh, I'm so mad at myself now!. The thermometer it came with is way off, so I have been using 2 digital thermometers I bought. The temp has been between 37-38.5 according to them. I don't have a way to calibrate them, but they agree for the most part. Should I bump the temp up to 101-102? Do you think they still have a chance? Also, they seem to be mostly on one side of the egg. Could that mean they are stuck? Humidity has been between 40-50%. Thanks again!

I would definitely bump the temp up to that range There's always a chance, but I would expect them to be at least a couple days late. Other than behind they look good to me. Are you hand turning?

This is the incubator I have. I bought it from ebay (no name). The description doesn't say it has a fan, but the same one on amazon says it does...I don't know what to think. It sounds like it has a fan to me. It has an automatic turner/tilter.

Oh yeah. Seen them. They are a Janoel knock off if I am correct. I'd say keep the temps at 100 and see how that goes. If your thermometers are accurate and your temps have been about 99.5 and the fan is working, I'd expect them to be where they need to be-unless there are cold spots in the bator and they have been in a cooler spot. You said you have 10 still developing, how do the other's look compared to these?

I have a fan forced little giant but I still have differences in temps in my bator. Under my heating elements (which run around the top of the bator) it is 1-2 degrees warmer than it is in the center of my bator. I was a couple weeks in when I noticed how big the difference was so I rotated my eggs and tried to keep the few I felt were behind in the warmer area directly under my heating elements.

They all look pretty similar. There a a few that look a little bigger. Here are a few pictures of the others. Thanks again for all the help!

To me, they mostly look a little farther along than the other's (with the exception of the last one.) I wish you luck and hope that they hatch for you!!
