14 week old breed + gender? (Russian Orloff? EE? Mixed?)

Picture two....look at that face.
Try and imagine that without a beard.
Can't see that face belonging to a cockerel for a second.
Be interested to see how it turns out.

Good observation and food for thought!!

I'll be sure to update when gender has been 100% confirmed along with pictures!

This breed! I didn't understand "slow-growing," but compared to my Wyandotte and Welsummers, I get it now lolol.

It's a girl! I knew that she was a girl as she never grew pointy saddle or hackle feathers and never crowed. However, I wanted to wait to update this post after she laid her first egg! At 42 weeks, Petunia laid her first egg today!

Her sister Russian Orloff Peach laid her first egg at 33 weeks the day after Thanksgiving. I was assuming that Petunia would skip winter and lay in spring. However, we do get a good amount of sunshine where I live, and winter has been relatively mild. Petunia's comb didn't really deepen in color, but she started squatting last Wednesday. This morning, she was moaning + groaning while running in + out of the coop and nesting boxes. A few hours later, I checked and found her egg! :ya

Petunia is my funkiest chicken. She is very expressive, and her nickname is Tune. 🎶 She is low in the pecking order but gets on pretty well with everyone. Her favorite thing to do is sunbathe. My Russian Orloffs are overall the cutest and spunkiest out of my flock (the other birds are GL Wyandotte and Welsummer). I've come to really love this breed! Yay Petunia!

Hi! Any updates?
I have one that looks just like her, black saddle feathers and very very chatty. TSC sold it as a pullet, so it better be!
Hi! I'm sorry I missed your reply! I just posted an update - she's a girl and just laid at 42 weeks! (Her sister Peach laid at 33 weeks).

How is your chickie? Did you figure out pullet or roo? Would love to see pictures too!
