He just rattled at me.

Funny how he could blast my ears with a crow when he was outside.

I haven't been able to catch him talking on camera.

His crop is not too tight, but not too soft. Pretty much what I'd expect at this time of day. Nothing abnormal.

I took a flashlight and looked down his throat, but it's all perfectly clear & clean.
I ran my hand along his neck and could feel nothing out of place, but he jerked his neck a couple of times.
It was dark here an hour ago, so I've just taken him out and deposited him on a perch next to his sister.
I was walking blind in the dark and almost missed the shed. Next time I will consider taking the torch.

I will see how he does in the morning.

I watched your video: Sometimes when birds "gape" like that, they are simply adjusting their crop. It can be mistaken for a respiratory disease, gapeworm, something stuck in throat etc...

While that alone would make me only a little nervous, he was not himself yesterday. He was not moving unless I picked him up. He was closing his eyes a fair amount too. His posture was 'pretty sick chicken' too. And that posture terrifies me.


I'm going to shoot out and see how he is.

His voice is still pretty hoarse. I'll keep an eye on him. Thanks everyone.

I think it might have been something stuck in his throat. His voice is a little hoarse, but he seems a lot more relaxed.
