Hi Friends,
This morning two of my three girls came out to greet me while the third (named Red) was much slower to come out. Red is lethargic, has her feathers puffed as if she’s cold, and has a purple comb color. Her eyes don’t look bright either.

The other two ladies are completely fine. Red did go through heat stroke this past summer but we were able to save her. She’s eating a bit but isn’t foraging around like the others. Any idea what could be going on? I read it could be a circulatory issue?
Thank you!

It is possible that she has some frostbite. If that is not a possibility due to freezing weather, she may be suffering from a heart problem, not getting enough oxygen. Does she have any trouble breathing? Can you get her warm and offer some fluids or electrolytes? Gatorade works, or sugar water.

We are located in New England and the weather does fluctuate. I keep the coop wrapped up and have food and water available.

Is the comb getting any natural color back? Comb color changes can be due to benign causes such as simple mood changes, stress, etc. It's not always due to cardio/pulmonary causes.
