I am VERY thankful for my friend for letting me borrow his incubator to hatch eggs!! :celebrate :love

I was worried about the different incubators out there.. some seem like they are more challenging to operate and handle. This one is very simple (and cute!) and is probably the one I will eventually purchase for myself. That is unless I find a better one with an automatic turning function that properly works.
Wow, how awesome of him!

Yes, I do agree with some being more challenging. After some of the ones I've used, I've decided it's just easier to use a good broody hen. Even that has a downside though, like not having a window to peek in whenever I want. If I was to purchase another, I'd like to get one like what you have.

Help! A cold front came through last night and my incubator got down to 24% humidity. Yesterday was the first day of lock down. Do y’all think they will be ok. I’m so nervous
Oh, I'm not sure. Have you tried posting a thread asking for help? My suggestion is put in warm water (or a wet towel) as soon as possible, but I've never done anything like that before. Try posting a thread in this section: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/incubating-hatching-eggs.5/

Definitely try posting your own thread or in the thread LacyDuckwing mentioned!!
I hope everyone is well in there 💕 keep us updated on how they do!

It’s the s30/52 smile series incubator! There’s also a blue one that can hold more eggs, if you like doing larger hatches I’d recommend the larger one as there’s not much room for RIRX eggs 😅 🤣
Another chicken expert friend of mine told me the eggs were okay to be touching, but if they all end up developing…I really don’t know how the chicks are going to hatch with so little room in there but she said this was okay how I had them 🙃😮‍💨

It's not going to hurt them. It's the long term dry cycles that would do damage. As long as temps and humidity are back in the normal range now, they will do fine. :)
