Hi guys,
I have a neighbor that has one peahen, that has already laid 15 + eggs this year, and that number is still increasing. This peahen will lay on average an egg every 2-3 days, and this peahen is 11 years old. Is it normal for a hen her age to give out soooo many eggs? If so, do you guys think that a lot of these eggs will be good (My neighbor has a peacock that is 5 years old with this one hen. This peacock only has access to this one hen.)? The reason why I ask is my neighbor is running out of chickens that are broody and she has 6 eggs right now that are not being set on. She is getting a lot of other eggs from other peahens as well. So do you guys think my neighbor will have a better chance at hatching some chicks if she used eggs from her other hens?
I never thought a person could have too many peahen eggs.
Thanks for any help.
