We got 12 light Brahma pullets from Southern States (My Healthy Hatcheries). Then after reading about how roosters provide protection for their girls, I decided a cockerel would be great.
Since venting is only 90% accurate, we thought we had a good chance of having a cockerel. We figured by the time they were 14 weeks we'd have a good idea about sexes so we could start looking for a cockerel about the same age or at least size if there were none.
But at 15 weeks there is this one pullet (Colonel) that is confusing me. Looking at her comb, I would swear if she were a few weeks younger I would be confident she was a cockerel. Now I need the experts to tell me if she is a he who is a late bloomer.
BTW, Colonel seems to be the dominate and is molting.
