15 years experience couldn't prepare me for this........(graphic)

When my turkey poults were about a foot tall, on hot days they would walk through the chicken coop and pick up the little week old to three week old chicks by their toes and fling them into the wall about 3 or 4 feet off the ground. Wouldn't give them another look, just fling them one by one as they came up on them while walking through.

Don't know if this helps.

In Hawaii, there are huge centipedes about an inch and half wide and up to a foot long. They are in the grass during the day. They have big jaws. When I would catch them in the hotel, it took 2 of us, and you could see their jaws moving and clicking. I don't know what bugs you have there.

Mongooses will come up under coop wire floors and nip off any chicken toes sticking down through wire.

Stepped in a mole hole and got bit?

Just brainstorming here - don't really know.
