I'll stop working for 1 year and use the $150,000 in my everyday living. Anyway this question reminds me a news entitled Chicago area man finds $150,000 in his back yard. Instead of owning the money and use it for himself, he rather chose to surrender it to the authority. Nice attitude, looking forward to the police to do the same.
Save it for harder times. I know its bad now but could get worse. Buy things you need to survive. Generators, Tillers stuff to help you be more self sufficient. Maybe a wind turbine if you live where the wind blows.
Yep have done that a few times already, does feel good. You should see the faces sometime when i tip a 100 bill, some even think i made a mistake.........yep the idea came from ChooksChick very post.... did try some of these ideas on this thread , which is a few months old.
Give to church and charities.
set aside about $5,000-10,000 for any fun times that come up in the next year.
Put enough money to pay 1 year of expenses in a savings or money market account for an emergency fund.
Put most of it in investments to provide for the future.
Take your parents on a really nice vacation to thank them for raising you
Deerman, I just joined BYC just a few weeks ago, and am slowly piecing together your story. For all the posts I have read from you, and about you, I have just got to say what an amazing person you are. Right now I am at work, sobbing hysterically about a complete stranger. I can only hope I have the strength you do what you are doing if I were faced with the same health issues. I love to hear your responses to people that have no clue what they are doing, and hold the highest respect for you.
My answer to this thread's question is the obvious, travel with family, and make sure they are taken care of. But one thing that wasn't mentioned...How about going to Australia and getting eggs from all these obscure peafowl colors, and smuggling them back? What are they gonna do? Arrest you? It would make for some hell of a vacation!! I'm sure there are alot of your friends that would carry on your legacy.... I know it sounds crazy, but I figured I would throw it out there. Remember, live like you were dying....Roberta
