16 1/2 year old gander sick.

I have read and seen a special as to why they eat dirt, and here's what I know of it. it actually helps grinds up there food and it takes out or rather blinds the Toxins that some seeds will have, this helps them pass any poisons.. while protecting them from having it enter there system.. Acts as a coating.. sort of speaking..

You saw them in here?

YES, IF THEY HAVE A BAD CASE OF GAPE WORMS YOU CAN SEE THEM RIGHT THERE, HOWEVER YOU HAVE TO GO A LITTLE BIT PAST THAT. THEY ARE usually on the walls. they aren't present by the tongue or just sitting right on top there you have to look down that hole and to the sides.

Need the weight of the bird but it's 3/10 of valbezen.

For my chicken who had gape worms this is what I gave her to treat her just so you have an idea...

Valbezen dose, mix 1cc of Valbezen with 8 CC of water, Take that mixture and give orally 2cc's per day for five days. I will warn you gape worms are hard to get rid of ..

let me check for the dose on a goose..

It is, but it makes no mention of treating for gapes.

No offense to anyone, but I think the proper Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound, not what First State Vet suggests.

Lacrystol, I think I remember your vet telling you that the dose was 20mg/kg, which is 0.08ml per pound.
