They say your body adapts eventually to lesser calories and fasting. I am sure not everyone does but try sticking with it. This is what I was saying earlier, traditional diets, eating throughout the day aways had me really hungry. But I am noticing with this long fasting and short eating window, I have become more stable and not as hungry or craving food like crazy. It took several days into this method, so maybe give it more time to see if you don't lose the desire to overeat? Insulin/blood sugar plays a part in our desire to eat, it feels like to me my insulin is becoming more stable in my body and I am just not as hungry as I usually was on traditional methods if eating or grazing all day.I did stop smoking 25 years ago, but I think my food anxiety is related to it. I can avoid overeating by eating regularly. If I fast, though, I want to overeat.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend.A very dear friend of mine started smoking in her teens, smoked pretty heavy all her life and was diagnosed with Lung cancer 3 months ago at the age of 61. She is now in the hospital clinging to life, it went to her brain from her lungs and she is terminal.
I am so sorry about your sister.I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
I applaud anyone who quits smoking. Everyone in my family did or does, except me. It finally killed my sister with her FOURTH cancer, lung cancer. You'd have thought she'd have learned with the first/second/third one.
T2D is my abbreviation for Type 2 diabetes. Which can be controlled and it can be reversed with diet and without pills.Read the book, The Case Against Sugar. It's eye opening.

I haven't mentioned any specific diet to my hubby. He needs to lose about 15-20 lb, and I'd like to lose about 10-15. I think since some of his clothes are tighter now, he's kind of conscious of the issue.
I went GF about 5 years ago. He isn't. I was recently looking into a paleo diet, but I haven't even thought of mentioning that to him. He surely wouldn't go along with that.
At every physical I've had, my blood sugar has been fine. But man oh man, I can feel it when it's crashing, and if it goes far enough, I'm shaky, and can turn into a real grump.
This time of year, I could probably do 15/9, easily. In the summer when it's light at 5:30 am and stays light till 9 pm, I'd have more trouble. I get up about sunrise so that I can let the chickens out, and I have to lock them up at sundown. (An auto door is not an option with my coop.)
I'm not making excuses! Whoever said that the mornings got easier ( not wanting to eat the table! I know how that is!), thank you for the encouragement.
There are so many health benefits to this, it has really made a difference in my life, after several months I should feel even better!@TwoCrows, thanks for the update! Very encouraging.
Oh this is fabulous Kim, I am so glad this method is helping you lose weight and feel so much better!! 800 calories is tough to stick to, make sure you are getting enough vitamins and especially minerals. Your jobs are very demanding!Anyone still doing their fasting? I’m 4 weeks 3 days in and I’ve managed to shift 11 pounds off my backside. I’m trying to restrict calories to 800 per day with only 2 meals and 1 fruit snack. Plenty of exercise with work during the day (horses) but I’m going to start to running again on a morning now it’s getting a bit lighter. I certainly don’t feel as sluggish as I did! Looking back now I was eating A LOT of crap!
