16/8 Intermittent Fasting, has anyone tried it?

They are Leyla yes. They seem a little rubbery though :hmmThey were only £1 a packet each though so even if I dont like them it won’t have broken the bank.
I do like some of the meat substitute products, we have “Quorn” over here that do a good range but don’t think I could go fully plant based! I like meat and eggs too much  I had 6 small polish eggs scrambled this morning for breakfast. Then I had chicken fillets on their own for dinner.... I like steak too.....

Oh I love the eggs and sausages, we eat them a LOT! Some of the "meats" you have to be careful cooking, they don't take long and over cooking them makes them rubbery. I saw the other day they make a Fish fillet, plant based. I am a bit nervous to try that one.

Ooh fish fillet plant based, I’m afraid I’m not sure on that at all! Yes for sure on the over cooking because a minute too long could leave you chewing on something like old boot leather

They are always inventing new foods and improving on the old. I will be anxious to see new plant based foods on the market.

I know this thread started in January, but I'm here to answer the question. 🤣

Yes, I've tried 16/8 intermittent fasting. No, it did not work for me. I tried it for months, eating 1500 calories (the supposed ideal amount of calories for my goal weight), and I lost nothing.

What got me to lose weight was cutting my calories down and sticking to it. That's all, nothing special. I am 5'2" and I was 142 lbs, and my goal was 130 lbs. I dropped my calorie consumption from the 1500 recommended to around 1250. I went from 142 lbs to 130 lbs in a couple months. I took a long break of just eating the 1500 calories to maintain that, but now I'm trying to lose some weight again. Same thing, 1250 calories a day, then 1500 (well probably 1400 at a lower weight) to maintain. I'd like to be 115-120 lbs, like I was years ago. I'm at 126 lbs right now, so I think it's possible. 😁

Congrats on the weight loss! Losing weight all boils down to calories in, calories out. Intermittent Fasting won't help a person lose weight but it does make you feel better. 1250 calories is a good number of calories to lose weight for your height. 1500 is no doubt maintenance. I did both, the calorie restriction and the Fasting just because. It does help the body burn fat more efficiently however by itself it isn't a method of weight loss. Great job on the loss, keep going! :)

Well done! I too have to watch the calories as it’s the only way to shift the weight.
