His feet have a few longish feathers but mostly scraggly stuff. As for how much feathering, just the outer side needs more. The toes are good. Does that make sense?

Don't worry too much about his feet. Foot feathers are tricky anyway because they break easily. :)
Makes perfect sense. Thanks so much, that’s exactly what I needed! I’m done for the time being, have a good night all :)

Alright @Cyprus help me out here.. does this look like your boy? What needs to be bigger/smaller fluffier/stragglier? I’m having trouble with comb and feet. Thinking legs are too short? Also can’t tell how mature your rooster was so that might be off. Trying to go off d’uccles on google + your pics.

This talk of snow fences brings back memories.

When I lived in Wyoming several years ago the snow fences were a bit more sturdy. They looked like pallets set up at a 45 degree angle from the ground.

My birth father had some tourists convinced they were bleachers for rattle snake races.

People are so gullable sometimes.

Regarding the run area @Cyprus - I love the cattle panel hoop houses. 4 of them and you've got a 16 x 8 run. You can cover with whatever you please but it makes for a solid foundation and I love that you can keep adding more if necessary. I went balls to the wall and used pressure treated 2 x 6's for a base frame and dug in hardware cloth. I use mine as a greenhouse but I have resident rabbits so I needed it secure. Nothing like having little fertilizer machines where you need them most!
Cattle panels are awesome - I use them for everything. Perfect for trellising kiwi too!
