My mom started teaching me to do laundry when I was 6. When I got annoyed at 11 at my sister stealing my stuff my mom told me to do my own. I’ve been doing my own since.

Anybody got any advice on how to control laundry for 7 people I swear I have tried everything and I just keep getting overwhelmed with piles of laundry.

I wash daily.

Can you limit the number of times they all change clothes each day?

We put hooks in our bedroom to hang clothes that have been worn once, but aren't really dirty and can be worn again. Otherwise, if the choice is to put something you've already worn back in the clean clothes drawer, or in the laundry hamper, it seems like it always goes in the hamper.

We went through years of intense water rationing where I live, so reducing loads of laundry got to be mission critical.

I really don't remember a time when I didn't help with laundry. One of my earliest memories is of my mom handing me a shirt and telling me which pile to put it in. Or telling me to sort the clothes into light and dark. I must have been about 3 or 4 by then.

I also remember helping to sort what belonged to which person. And of course folding and putting away my own.

Maybe it makes a difference that Mom was a teacher and was using laundry day to teach me colors and such.
