16 lb. baby - ouch!!

WOW good to know im not the only one having big babies! Mine were 10.6 at 39 weeks and 7.14 at 34 weeks. My second boy was 6 weeks early and was in the NICU for 4 weeks and even though its an unwritten rule that you dont stare at the other babies in the NICU my almost 8 pound son looked like a freak next to all the 3 and 4 pound babies in there.....he got more then one double take hahaha.

I was one of twins and weighed almost 7 pounds and my twin brother weighed almost 8.

My daughters next door neighbor in the Incubator was "Parker" who weighed nearly 12lbs at birth!!! My poor baby at 2lbs and some change looked like a dwarf next to that baby. My husband made a comment one day to the nurse of "please don't let that baby eat my baby"!!! LOL She laughed and "Parker"s parents became great NICU "friends" while he was there beside our daughter. They too made comments about not letting them get too close to each other.

Big babies run in my family. My sisters son was 13.2. with no warning he would be big. We have very few babies under 10 lbs. I was 11 lb and my mothers smallest. My doctor said yesterday the baby can come anytime now. He is two and a half weeks early but is not waiting. I am 50% effaced, and 4 cm. I have been in labor once two weeks ago, but the doctor was able to stop it. I am glad he will be a little early so he is not to big. My tummy looks like a oversized basket ball.

That's funny - that he's your skinniest kid now. Kind of like tiny preemies that end up huge

It'd be ironic if this huge "little" fella ended up 5'6" or so and 130lbs as a man

My second daughter weighed 10lbs 2.3oz at birth, now she is 6 years and only weighs about 40lbs. She is the tiniest little thing you would never know she was so big at birth.
I can tell ya'll this was no easy c-section that lady went through, I almost stopped breathing and had to be put on oxygen when they were trying to get the baby out.
I can not imagine the baby being 16lbs.
Also I carried mine 42 weeks the first time and 41 the second time.
Bless your heart arabianequine, 43 weeks is a long time to be pregnant, you are one tough lady!!!!!

Thank you! Lol but not like I had much choice

. It was not happening on its own, that's when the c section was scheduled by the doctor. I had no pregnancy sugar diabetes either but it was starting to kick in. We went almost a full year.....one month shy. Hard to believe, glad its over though.
