Hi folks! I live in Upstate NY - halfway between Albany and Binghamton and currently have a 16 month Jersey/Holstein heifer I need to sell ASAP.
Born 2/11/12.
Her Sire is Freeman Blackstone Shine (7JE01071) - Jersey - Select Sires.
His pedigree summary says that his milk production is +396 lbs. with a cheese merit value of $+427. Fat= +.20%. Protein= +.09%.
She's 52" tall and weighs at least 750#.
She was AI'd to a Genex Jersey bull (Braveheart) June 15th. I'm pretty positive she took but I'd like to confirm she's bred before selling. March/April calf if bred.
She's gentle, halter-broke, leads well, is an excellent forager/grazer and is trained to tie-out to graze. She has been introduced to the stanchion and lets me handle her udder.
Dehorned as a calf.
I don't feed any growth hormones or antibiotics as I'm trying to raise my livestock as naturally and organically as possible. The only shots she has received are Tetanus and Rabies.
I feed small amounts of grain, and she has free access to a 2 acre field. During the winter I fed good quality hay.
My herd is TB and Bangs free.
I tested Valentine for beta casien protein and her genotype is A1/A2. So there's 50/50 chance her calf will be A2/A2 as I bred her to an A2 bull.
$800. Cash. Cannot deliver.
If you have any more questions I'd be happy to try and answer them.
You are welcome to come look at her/check her out. For myself, seeing them in person really helps with making a decision. Let me know and I will give directions.
