Just checked the hatchery and wow are they sold out of popular breeds for a while.

Got a little done on the brooder today and yesterday.

This is a view from the left end (it's in the shop getting a few additions). the left panel will be a door that opens out to the rest of the poop table. The right side will get the plastic screen.

This is the view from the right corner, you can see the shorter roost bar sticking out. I will be able to move the right side in to start and as they grow move it out to the end of the front door. The roost is the same as the 8' roost just shorter to make it easier to put the side in.

Got more details done on the brooder. It's a strange world right now, I needed some #6 x 5/8" screws for the hinges on the left door and normally I would dash over to Menards and pick some up but today I just kept scrounging until I found enough to finish the job.

I got the latch that holds the left side to the poop table and finished up the door.

The door will lead to a chicken walk down to the floor. I'm thinking some steps maybe instead of a ramp.

Got more done on the right side.

The door will open up the whole poop table for them to explore under supervision.

Got to cobble up a feeder and water system for them and a few more details.

I also finished up the front door guide for the left side.

With the door open a little, nothing to support it except a 2 x 4 so it's leaning a tad.

I better get cracking only 14 days left before the chicks ship!

While waiting for glue to dry I finished up one of the nipple water stations. I plan on building two stations for some reason unknown to me, one worked last time with 10 chicks...

The water station is mounted to the left wall with a carriage bolt and the back has a slot for adjustment. As the pullets grow I can raise it up. The water tube can also be adjusted up and down as needed. The cap is just sitting in a cavity so I can reach in and get it and dump it out. Because I know for sure they will spill water into it lol.

Everything down.
