I don't know about that? This particular bird isn't roosting now. She's in the coop but not roosting with the others now. I put a milk crate in there, it has cardboard in the bottom with shavings on top. She was looking at it like an alien. I stuck a egg in there too

How long does it take for them to lay their first egg? She's still not roosting. She didn't go in the milk crate either. She's just laying down.
Around her vent is damp but I don't see any discharge or anything. Earlier she tried to look at her rear end a few times, like she was trying to figure out what was going on.

When should I start getting worried?

A weekly egg hunt is likely going to result in batches of questionable eggs.
Wouldn't eat them when you do find them.
That depends on the temperature where you live live but my point was that the eggs get found before they go rotten and get broken.

We find our eggs (and our newly laying pullets) by listening for an egg song and following it to it's source. Once in a while there will be 3-4 eggs in the spot before we find it but we have never had a bad egg yet.

I went outside to check on everyone and I think one girl is preparing to lay. She kept pooping a little, I approached her and she squatted (first time I've had that happen) her vent is also twitching
pullets sometimes squat like that for weeks before laying an egg.
