Thank you for bidding.. guess we are in the same storm.. just got through a bit of sleet, hail and rain all the same time.

pm me before you pay for the auction.. ok?

Will do. I have PayPal so shouldn't be an issue. It is really blowing outside... I'm near a window and kinda wish I wasn't. I'm thinking about my poor silkies at home in their little coop. I left the back door to their pen open so they could go out if they wanted... I really hope they are inside. Probably sunggled up in their nest box, as that is where they have started to sleep now that it is colder. Can't wait for hubby to finish the new coop, it is insulated, has real windows, and lots of room for MORE silkies... (but don't tell him that). Its that chicken math you know... we lost our sweet Phyllis to a hawk and now I need lots more to fill the gap. First time we have lost one of our girls... devestating for my children. No more roaming the yard without one of us out there with them!

yes it was bad for me this year. I have not lost to predators since I have had silkies. But this year I lost 42 babies actually juveniles. I had bought 12 SG and
something got all but two of them also. I was devastated and afraid to go out and see who was left each morning.

Thanks cj

Oh wow... that is so sad. we really don't have that many preditors where we are, and our yard is fenced and pretty well protected. In the Spring/Summer months, we have a lot of tree coverage and a lot of crows that I gladly feed. They keep the hawks away. My mistake was letting them out when the trees were bare, our patio furniture was away and there were very few places to hide. So much my fault. She is burried under her favorite tree with my daughter's little silkie, Thelma. She was a failure to thrive... we keep her going for almost 2 months, but she was too little and two week.
