I have great news this morning! I woke up this morning to a chick in the incubator that is lavender. The good news is that this chick is out of one of the black Ribbeck pullets out of pen A, meaning that pullet has to be a "split" and she carries the lavender gene. The really good news is that this pullet lays a blue egg without green in it. If I get any males out of her that are nice, they will be a wonderful tool to improve egg color in this variety. I am so thrilled! Now, back to business. Let me go visit the pens and see how many eggs you guys are looking at in this auction.
