I know Roosters make all sorts of noises- my rooster has a crow that is so loud it carries two blocks- we purchased a no crow collar and put it on loose for the first day giving him chance to get use to wearing it- we tightened it to the recommendation and left just a little more room- he's been wearing it for about 4 days now. Yesterday when he crowed it almost sounded like my other Roo was quietly echoing back. Then this morning when I went to let them out he was making what I can only describe as the sound spongebob makes when he's sleeping lol- he seems to only really do it when I'm near him. He is eating normal and drinking , I removed the collar and he can inhale fine but it sounds like he's moaning when he exhales - is this a normal sound and it's just coincidence it started while wearing the collar or is it something to be concerned about? I feel awful that I may have caused this issue :( any help is appreciated

One of my roosters moans just after he crows which is normal for him, but it could be a sign of something wrong, since your didn't do that before. I really don't llke the whole idea of no-crow collars. Some people have lost their chickens with them. That is just my personal opinion though.

I did take it off of him and believe me I didn't like the idea either but I live in a suburban neighborhood and two of my chicks turned out to be roosters and I already got attached- we are working on buying a mini farm so he can crow until his heart is content - he's only 18 weeks- I took a video and shared it in my fab chicken group and the consensus is it seems perfectly normal it's just a new cooo noise - never had experience with roosters so I'm a little paranoid about anything out of the "ordinary"
