19 and a half weeks old and still no eggs :( egg countdown anyone??

ok guys so a total of 7 chicks another 2 that did not make it but still 7 is good and this little guy who is name fuzzy feet makes me smile he was the last one to hatch and i got the fuzzy feet suprise

Wow congrats!!!! Are these from peewee eggs or large eggs?

We didn't use super big eggs ... our chickens lay a variety of sizes, but not too many extra large or jumbo eggs. I can show a photo of the shells from the hatchlings, if you're interested. I kept them. We've read super small eggs have thicker shells so are harder to hatch from and less yolk for nourishment, but super large eggs have other issues. So "medium" sized eggs are the best choice. I guess it is relative ... medium for our flock is probably "Small" (graded/sized) on the grocery shelf.

Fuzzy Feet is from a bantam rooster and regular hen ... I think from a brown shell. All our laying females are regular size; two of our five roosters in General Population are feather footed bantams (Buff Cochin, Red Somethingorother). We also have a Brown Leghorn roo who is the top cock, a Black Austrolorp roo, and a Buff Orpington roo. We know the one from the white egg is most likely full Brown Leghorn. There were also a couple green eggs, and a couple brown eggs that hatched. The fuzzy faces clearly came from the green eggs, so have Easter Egger moms. The others ... mystery mutts.

I had an egg like this last year. I broke it open and was expecting a double or triple yolked egg. To my surprise I had a hard shelled small egg INSIDE the large egg. The large egg had the White only and the second egg, The smaller egg only had a yolk in it. Really odd.

Good Job Daddy, 9/12 and 7 living to peep about it is awesome!! How stinkin cute are those fuzzy feet, and big little puff ball too!!

Daisy laid a collossal egg today, a lovely large double yolk.....andGinger laid 2 eggs today! What a champ!
