Mine are 16 - 21 weeks old and nothing...........I even but some fake easter eggs in the nest box and they drug them out and tossed them out of the chicken door. sigh

Are they the plastic eggs, like for kids? I tried ne of those at first but my girls didn't seem to like the box with that one in it. The other one had a nice brown, realistic ceramic egg in it that my grandmother had found at a thrift shop. Their first choice was that nest. I have ceramic eggs in both now. Also even 21 weeks isn't overdue yet, but hopefully soon! Has it been hot in Nevada? Heat can affect laying. Good luck!

I have wooden eggs in all the nest boxes. The ones in the coop nest box are continually ejected by the hens; they really don't want those eggs in there, even though they refuse to use those nest boxes. The nests they use in the run with the wooden eggs are fine, however, and for some reason they leave them alone!

Hmmm, it makes me wonder if that's why I keep finding the golf balls in my nest box kicked off to the side. Maybe the ladies just don't prefer those? Weirdos. My last flock had no problem with it. Guess I'd better find me a wooden egg to try.

It was Cinnamon, my Barnevelder- ameruacana cross. Can wait to see what color the other two Olive Eggers lay!!

You have opened my eyes to a whole new chicken experience! I have been looking at the Favocauna threads (sp?), but it didn't sink in until just now that olive eggs are a back yard chicken breeders reward. It really was seeing a varied basketful of eggs that made me need to get chickens. We have white, sage green, and various shades of mediun-to-light brown so far (some are approaching pinkish, but not quite). I have one Cuckoo Marans hen about ready to lay (I hope) and 5 more Marans chicks in the brooder, so I'll be getting some dark brown eggs. I want blue eggs (we have several EEs, but only two are laying, hence the sage green eggs). And now I want olive eggs, too. Seems like the olive eggs will take a while to get started ...

If it makes you feel better, I have two 30-week-olds and a 25-week-old that should be laying, but I'm totally getting stiffed. Been combing the yard like a crazy woman for hidden nests
If mine were free roaming I would be doing the same. Right now they seem to be very curious as to why I stick my head in the nesting box several times a day!

Haha yeah, mine always wonder what I'm doing when I check the run and coop for fart eggs, since no one's laying yet. I did just get a fence put in yesterday, though, so that really cuts down on the area where they could be laying. I had a dream last night that I found a stash of three or more eggs hidden in one of the bushes

Can I join? I have 11 laying ducks: 19 and 22 weeks old. Monday we got out first egg. And Tuesday and Wednesday one each on those days too. So 3 eggs so far.

I have various age chickens: 12-16 weeks and then four 23 week olds. No eggs on those 23 weekers??

Want me some eggs! :D

Excuse my typos. Sent from my iPhone.
