19 and a half weeks old and still no eggs :( egg countdown anyone??

This is Bobbie, the largest of my Blue Cochin/Australorp mix. She is 30 weeks old and has laid at least 3 eggs. She is BIGGER than the 1 1/2 yr old Blue Cochen hen that laid her egg. The feathering on her legs/feet is not a full as a full blooded Cochin but she's Lovely.

This is Toni. Her mother is a larger black hen that came from Sex Link male & female. The father is a Blue Cochin. She is as fully feathered as any full blooded Cochin, but is slightly smaller than a Cochin. She is also 30 weeks but has not begun laying yet. She has curly feathers on her puffy back side. A couple of my Cochen hens do also.

Yeah. My hands are kinda small, but still. That thing was a monster. Wish I could upload a photo of it in the carton with the "regular" eggs ... my iPhone isn't getting along with my MacBook at the moment. Awkward!
and thats why i hate my self everyday for trading my nice pantech crossover android cell phone for an iphone 3gs so tottally not worth it

My birds are going to be 21 weeks on saturday....No eggs :/ I found out that my feed has no protein :( Which isn't good. So my dad is off to buy some feed. So their Danish browns leghorns ...... my friend asked me if they have a nice crown on them, which I was what?

What type of feed could you be using that has no protein? Please let us know the brand and type of feed. Also, there's no "crown"...is your friend talking about their combs/wattles? When they begin to be ready to lay eggs their combs and wattles with grow larger and get much more red in color, rather than pale pink. 21 weeks is still well within range of normal for your birds to not be laying yet though, I wouldn't worry too much unless they're somehow ill.
