19 and a half weeks old and still no eggs :( egg countdown anyone??

One of the youngest silkies I have (probably only 4 months now) sang the egg song today, but no egg. Everybody around her just stopped and looked. I didn't believe it was her. CAn't wait until my silkies start laying..... I'll post a pick of my tiniest one (and the oldest silkie - her mama died in July

)....Carlisle is about 20 weeks now.

In my experience, it takes 6-8 months before they start laying.

^ NOOOO!!!

But seriously these Easter eggers are born late April, I've put in a light on a timer in the hope that they won't put off laying until next spring (is that likely?)

Also should I have fake eggs if I have other older birds already laying?

Yet again I come whining about my 37 week old maran on BYC...hopefully she'll get the message soon

Here some pictures. She doesn't squat, but I don't think she ever really will; she's SO flighty! I *may* have heard her singing the egg song sometime this week, but I can't be certain. She also doesn't make nests that I know of.

I hope she lays soon...

BTW, she's been wormed, treated for mites, ect...

My Australorps started laying at 18 1/2 weeks -- now my Buffs and SLW's are 18 1/2 weeks old today. I'm getting a little anxious to see when they'll start! Hope it's soon!
