Penicillin wasn't even developed for another 20 years so they didn't have "superbugs" like we have today... and it was so hard to make they had to collect the urine of people treated with it so they could reclaim the antibiotic to use again.

I usually agree with you Silkiechicken not this time

Yes they did not have anti-biotic resistant super bugs yet.

The plain old bugs were just as lethal if not more so. Remind me again how many people died from Influenza, Whooping Cough, Flu, Pneumonia, Malaria, Polio, TB, Small Pox etc etc etc

Even with our super bugs we are better off than they were.
