Well, like Kim at Camelot Farms, I have sold some of the things I was thinking of bringing...and I'm not sure if I can get there by 10, but I'm bringing new Usborne childrens books for my prize contribution. Tell me how many you want -- 10, 15? They range in value from $5 - $20.
I have also offered to bring birds for some friends, so may have extras beyond mine. Right now, it looks like:
Some 3 week old barred rock look like roos (out of my pullet order!)
1 6 week old Welsummer, don't know the breed well enough to sex them but this chick hovered all the new babies that were put in with him/her.
2 - Blue Laced Red Wyandotte roos -- yep, my pair turned out to be a pair of Roos! from Gabbard Farms stock
1 juvenile Barred Rock, nice looking, from hatchery stock
1 black pullet, white egg layer, p.o.l.
2 isa brown pullets " " " p.o.l.
1 partridge wyandotte pullet p.o.l.
2 bantam Partridge Rock roos and 5 or 6 ladies, born end of June
Mixed breed standard roos and pullets, should be p.o.l., black
1 Buckeye roo - he's gorgeous, but grumpy
2 RIR roos - about 18 wks
Some mixed bantam roos
1 white sultan bantam roo
ETA: 1 silver sebright hen
If anyone wants older laying hens, let me know -- I CAN bring a handful of 2 yr old Rhode Island Reds if someone wants them. Same with 10 Muscovy Ducks born end of June - 5 drakes, (2 green, 1 chocolate ripple, 2 white) 5 hens (all white, from same clutch by colored parents)... And 3 Naragansett Turkey Poults, about 2 mos. old. These I will ONLY bring if someone specifically wants them -- don't want to stress them for no reason.
On the LOOKING FOR list, I am now looking for...a Bantam Salmon Faverolle rooster, Buttercup hens, a Silver Sebright rooster, mini-rex rabbits, Silver Campine hen(s) and some hatching eggs (standard pure breed chicken).
I noticed yesterday one of my mottled cochin roo's is starting to be a looker!! I had to do some pondering Thinkin hmmm should I keep him and sale the one I use now..LOL He's lookin like a turkey neck right now, one of the hens that he's with pecks his neck feathers out..UGH!! LOL
Here is some pic's of some of the birds I may be bringing
sizzle roo
5 toes, dark skin, rose comb (but it has a red tint to it)
Pet Quality serama roos
frizzle hen (I may bring haven't decided) this is a few months old
I just confirmed with DH and we are definitely coming. He is a broom maker and woodworker, so he'll be bringing brooms, hand-carved spoons, small jewelry boxes and tons of cedar Christmas ornaments.
Additionally, he's donating a cabin broom for one of the door prizes.
I was hoping to get some hatching eggs, but I'm setting eggs tomorrow, so I'll have to settle for finding out who had the kinds of birds I want and buying eggs at a later date.
I'm looking forward to next Saturday. It should be fun.
