I think you have to have someone in the group registered or something called a Poultry Dealer to do this. A poultry dealer can pull off a sale, but the catch all is this: The dealer will have to record everything that is sold!! But to be sure I recommend contacting the Ag Dept for more clarity.

If I read this correctly.... as long as we sale, trade, purchase birds as a "HOBBY" I think we are ok. But someone else take a stab at it or call.

I am not sure how this would work if we became our own group as in selling and buying. It could happen under the group name??

Hey gang, we can do this more than once if it all works out. Like I mentioned before... I will check into the creating of a group thing. Also I recommend inviting some local crafters to the event to enhance the activities of the folks. This is a good time of year to something Christmas. Maybe in November, we could do a Christmas Bazzar with poultry and crafts! Gives us time to work out the details and do some marketing. Maybe our local TSC will allow us to do something. There is a TSC in Galax, Wytheville, and Marion for sure!! Just some thoughts to throw out. Would you like it better if we created a yahoo group to discuss things?

I think this time as well we could call it a chickenstock and Trade Days maybe, that should include small animals, poultry, equipment, crafts and misc goods...

I would love to come, but I'm not 100% at this point that I can make it on that date.

If I do come I could possibly bring some of the following:
1 four month old white peachick
black orp chicks
buff laced polish chicks
black cohin bantam chicks

As well as some hand painted christmas items.
