~1st Annual southwest VA Chickenstock updated with pics

alrighty!! Lets get some plans goin.

Ok, Kim you said you didn't mind to help with a sign in table for the BYC members, I dont care to help out with that as well. I'd say we kinda set up around the sign in table that way if you've got some chicken business goin I can run the table and vice versa.

I think the prizes should go to the BYC members.
1 pize for a door prize
1 prize for the most miles traveled
any other ideas ???

I'm goin to try and be up ther by 9:00 to open the gates and let the guy in the kitchen for concessions along with getting my stuff set up. If your bringing a prize is 10:00 too early to ask to be there that way we can get everything sorted out??

Kim what time are you comeing??

I've got a table for sign ups but everyone will need to bring there on tables, tents, ect. There are tables up there but they belong to the coon hunters not the horse club.

if you bringing any kind of horse/mini/donkey they will have to have a coggins or they are not allowed off the trailer.

Goats and stuff like that will have to be confined to truck or pen.

Ok, as far as setting up there is about an acre lot up ther and the show ring. Should we have part of the lot sectioned off for vendors and another section for parking?? or have all the vendors set up in the ring and park in the lot??

I'm just getting some of the things running through my head out, if anyone else has any ideas feel free to post...

YAY getting excited, prayin for a good turn out and good weather!!!

PP, You are familiar with the setup, so I say use your own judgement. Keep in mind if people have a lot of stuff you don't want them to have to carry it very far. Would everyone have to carry stuff to the ring or is it accessible to vehicles. It would be nice if all of the BYC people could be in one area and not spread out everywhere. After all how often do we get to socialize with each other face to face. Plus we can all help out with whatever needs to be done.

I agree about the prizes, they should go to BYC members. You could just put everyones name in a hat and draw for however many prizes you have left after the two you mentioned.

I hope we have nice weather that day!!!

The ring is accesible to vechicles with 3 different gates. but not sure after everyone gets set up, so I think the lot would be better. I agree with the BYC members setting up together.

Um on the 1st post I have a list of all the ones that were interested and the ones that are in bold are the ones that have told me or kim that they were for sure comeing. Also at the bottom of that post is a list of the donated gifts, I'm goin to try and get something better, Not so sure someone will want one of my photos..LOL

I like the idea of parking in the ring if we can. I had hoped to be able to 'work' off the back of my truck. Is that an option? I was worried about chicks in the cold too and thought I could always run the heater in the truck if they got chilled.

If we cant park in the ring intself, I would say that we could use the parking lot itself as the sale ground and make our own ring.

I would put the crafters very near the stock but not mixed in. Does that make sense?

I can be there by 9:30. Until my meds kick in in the mornings, I am useless...lol.

I will be bringing:

A pair of red/blue OEGB chicks from RenegadeRidge stock. Pullet/Cockerel 3-4 weeks old.

3 Quail OEGB pullets from RenegadeRidge stock. 3-4 weeks old

Mature pair of Lemon Splash OEGB. (pics on webpage)

hatching eggs from MF Duccles and Barred OEGB

Pet Quality Serama...Pullet and Cockerels.

**Everything else I planned to bring is already sold...lol**

Okay we're coming. We're going to donate a $25 gift card for TSC as a prize for something or other.

As far as what I'm bringing, I know for certain I'm bringing guinea keets. LOL

I'm still working on what else.

Laurie
