~1st Annual southwest VA Chickenstock updated with pics

Loved the pics PP. Sounds like a great turn out!

I am hanging in there. The new meds are helping some but I think I add to it with my anxiety. The rate is still high, 90-100 but at least its steady.

I hate that I missed all of the fun and swapping! But I'll be ready for Spring!

I wanted to buy chickencat's little trio of sebrights, but didn't think I'd have anyplace to put them once I got home. Of course, half way home I remembered the empty run that's sitting in the middle of my yard.

Oh well, maybe it wasn't meant to be.

It was great to meet and great and to put faces with names. I'm looking forward to a bigger and better swap next year. Maybe I'll actually have something to share next time.

Hey there----had a great time, great to meet new Chicken interest people. Hey whats the name of the hen I got--the frizzle---I know she has a name------but forgot to ask-----we talked all the way home. I then introduced her to my partridge silkie rooster named Romeo--hes the same size as her. I got extra eggs this evening- so maybe the silkies are laying again after brooding so much--would like to do this again---next time bring some of my extras,,,,, Teresa tcltoughmom
PS...I used my broom at the door with trick or treaters and will take it down to the barn building in a few minutes, I lock mine up around 7pm if I let them out to range.

too bad the weather was a little on the wet side. I believe we'd had a much better turn out. In the Spring should be really good. It was very nice to meet everyone, we had a good time. I did get to see several breeds of chickens that I've only read about and they were gorgeous birds. NOW, how did I miss the puppies?? It was bad enough I couldn't take home any rabbits, worse i didn't get puppy breath.

Sorry I didn't make the swap...I had car trouble (after getting everything ready to go) Had to unload everything...Can't wait for the Spring meet...I hate I missed meeting everyone...sounds like a great time was had by all. And on top of that, I still have Split/Black Lav Orps to find homes for.

I haven't read this whole thread was too big. Are there any poultry shows, fairs, ect anytime soon, or are you guys waiting for spring? I'm still new at this chicken thing, but I read posts everyday and am learning lots of great things here. I think a show/fair is great!! I need to get home for some chickens and I think this would be a perfect opportunity for that. Place you know your birds would find good homes!!. Anything going on I would be interested in knowing about and another question what are the closest ones to Pa, Any? Or closest to Pa. Thank you all in advance to your response.
